Since this is a two unit home I would ask that courtesy be provided to the guests staying one floor above. PLEASE!
I kindly ask you to treat this home as you would your own and return the place as you found it to earn a great review. We really want to refund your entire deposit. We’ve had instances where we haven’t been able to and neither of us wants that. Also, the back yard is shared with the guests upstairs. So, play nice. That area is not covered by the cleaning fee. Please keep it clean at all times.
– No loud music, no parties, and no smoking.
– Please move trash cans to curb on Tuesday evenings and back in the morning
– Please place all feminine sanitary products, baby wipes, and paper towels in the proper trash receptacle, kindly do not flush them.
– Please try to prevent your hair from going down the drains.
– Lastly, please wash your dishes and start a load of towels before you leave.

Here’s a little bonus I sneak in here for a reward for actually reading this section. I called it “free night feedback”. If you can give me usable advice in the *private* comments section or through the messaging tool upon check out that would be beneficial to other guests I will add you to a list for a chance at one night free to one guest per month. Examples include: Famous Amos oatmeal raisin cookies instead of the bottled water, disposable slippers like at Crown Plaza hotel, something that previous host (and a link to their listing). Please be specific. I really want to use your advice. Please mention through the messaging tool that you left me “free night feedback”.
And most importantly, sit back, relax, and enjoy. Make yourself at home.
Thanks!

The Space

The place is small but comfortably appointed with all the amenities you need to feel at home. Dining area with expandable bar table. Living room area has a gorgeous tufted sofa bed. We even provided a yoga mat for the yogi’s out there if you want go to Yoga District (a couple blocks away) or just practice in the comfort of this space. The property is located in a very diverse, gritty, and trendy part of DC.

Ceiling has been replaced with multiple sound dampening products to improve your experience.

The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, including a new electric Samsung convection oven. We’ve stocked it with pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, mugs and utensils. Plus we also provide several mugs and a K-Cup coffee maker and a nice traditional coffee maker.

My place is just a few minutes’ walk from a Capital Bikeshare station. Check out a bike for your trip to the monuments, Metro, run errands, go shopping, or visit friends and family. As for parking, there is no designated parking. However, street parking is available. Lastly, there are two Metro train stations less than a mile away to take you within minutes of most tourist sites, two bus stops around the corner, and Uber is never far.

Both rooms have a daybed with pop-up trundle that can either be used as a separate bed or adjoined to the daybed to be a king sized bed. A “Sleep Innovations Bed Bridge” is in the closet to make the 2 beds more comfortable when adjacent. Also, each bed has microfiber sheets and cozy comforters to help you sleep in on your vacation.

The neighborhood is in transition. It is the very culturally and socio-demographically diverse. In the past couple years, this area has become a popular destination for DC yuppies to relocate while living amongst those who have called DC home for decades.

Lastly, there is Wi-Fi (105 Mbps – the fastest I could buy) and HD Xfinity Cable and a Visio SmartTV. And feel free to use the washer and dryer.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the entire unit including a quaint backyard with patio seating.

For your convenience, we installed a keypad entry to the home, allowing you go about your day without having to track a key. The code is changed after check-out.

Interaction with Guests

I’m a single dad plus I have a full-time job that often keeps me away from my phone (and the app) and keeps me on the road. Consequently, I’ve hired a great team of people to help you get timely responses (Guesty) and even have my mother (Yvette) keeping an eye out if you have issues. My hope is that this doesn’t make the feeling impersonal but instead that you feel that the communication is extremely responsive. Since I don’t live on the property, the place is all yours to relax and make yourself at home.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is extremely diverse and conveniently located within walking distance to several cafe’s, restaurants, and minutes from tourist sites…
